How to book my ticket
Please book via DanceCloud.

Do I need to know any shag or balboa to attend the classes?
All dancers are welcome but we’re expecting most people will have tried either balboa or collegiate shag. On Saturday we will be running 2 classes on fundamentals that are suitable for everyone, including beginners and then 2 classes for more experienced dancers. The Shim Shag and Sunday classes will be all level classes so there should be plenty of dancing for everyone. Please feel free to get in touch if you’d like to check.

How about the socials?
All fast dancers welcome! Our lovely bands and DJs will be playing primarily up tempo songs with a balboa/shag “feel” but lindy hoppers, charleston flappers and St. Louis shaggers are of course welcome.

The Saturday evening live band is Melody Room Jazz and the Sunday afternoon live band is the Jim Wynn Swing Orchestra.

What should I bring?
Comfy clothing, dance shoes (nothing too sticky), water and may be a towel and an extra T-shirt or 3 as it can get quite sweaty.

Do I need a partner?
No. We will ask everyone to pick a primary role (lead or follow) when booking to help us balance numbers in the classes and will rotate partners during the class (although of course you can dance specifically with one person if you prefer).
